When to Consider Dental Implants

Missing teeth or uncomfortable dentures are reasons to discuss replacement options. Dental implants may be suitable, but symptoms alone cannot determine the right treatment.

Reasons to seek an assessment

Arrange a dental review if missing teeth affect chewing or speaking, or if dentures feel unstable. Persistent pain, loose teeth or damaged teeth also need examination; they do not automatically mean an implant is necessary.

How implants support replacement teeth

An implant is placed in the jawbone to support a crown, bridge or denture. The restoration is selected for the number and position of missing teeth. Healing and treatment stages vary between patients.

Compare your options

Your dentist assesses oral health, available bone and medical history before discussing suitability. Gum problems and healing risks need consideration. Ask about alternatives, the full treatment plan and ongoing care before deciding.
